Video Blogging

I share videos with people online constantly. I got tired of sharing links with people individually, so I decided to start using this blog as my "Video of the Day" feed. I was a little disappointed that other people have taken the "videooftheday" and "dailyvideo" subdomains at blogspot.com, so I am somewhat sheepishly adding videos to my otherwise generic blog. Starting today.

10 Reasons Why Things Won't Change

Before anyone gets bent out of shape by what I am about to say, please note the following:

- I am proud to be a tax paying, patriotic American citizen.
- I am extremely pleased with the fact that America has elected its first African-American President, a long overdue historical precedent.
- I am able to adequately distinguish between informed dissent and blatant, blind racism.

1) President-elect Obama himself tempers our expectations for drastic changes. - LINK
2) "Bin Laden" is still out there and doesn't care that we are asking for change. LINK
3) Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, appointed by George W. Bush, will remain the Defense Secretary for at least one year. - LINK
4) President-elect Obama has appointed Tim Geithner as Secretary of the Treasury. For those of you who don't know, he's the current CEO of the New York Federal Reserve Bank. - LINK
5) Obama is still slinging the same rhetoric about the War on Terror - LINK
6) With regards to the USA Patriot Act, it's important to note that he voted to both approve AND extend it. - LINK
7) Iran is a threat to all of us - LINK
8) Guantanamo isn't closing anytime soon. - LINK
9) A Civilian National Security Force? Sound kinda fascist to me! - LINK
10) Oh, how could I forget? Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton. The position of Secretary of State is perhaps the most important role regarding America's representation around the world. - LINK

Photos and a video from the Phillies Parade on Halloween 2008

When I discovered that the Phillies parade would begin a block away from my rather tall office building, I knew it would be an opportunity to take some more photos. Check them out.

Rode past this crowd on my bike as I was on my way into the office.

Shots from the 38th floor of 20th & Market Sts.

Heavy police presence outside Starbucks.

More from the 38th Floor. Note the Budweiser truck. That brought much crowd cheer.

The crowd outside my office building in the courtyard.

Video as the parade kicks off.

The Philly Phanatic.

People will climb like apes.

More Phanatic.

Coach Charlie Manual.

MVP Pitcher Cole Hamels.

Two coworkers getting ready to cut out of work and get wasted. I think one of them is already halfway there.

Video from Broad Street after the Phillies win the World Series

Here are a few videos I uploaded to YouTube from the same night.

This gives you a small taste of what the insanity was like.

Philly Wins World Seris :: Center City Gets Trashed

South Broad St. between Bainbridge and South St.

Corner of Broad St. and South St. atop a newspaper box + trashcan.

Me on top of the newspaper stand with some Philly whackos.

Random people shooting off Roman candles.

SEPTA bus which was eventually climbed on top of by raging fans.

Some random Eagles fan in a tree next to me. Note the dress shoes. Classy.

More fireworks.

Long shot of the Philly Police. They were incredibly patient with the mayhem tonight. Maybe because they were outnumbered 2000 to 1.

I'm pretty confident that martial law would be chancy for the authorities based on what I saw tonight.

City Hall.

Not sure which building this is, but people were basically climbing up the side.

People were basically climbing anything that could be climbed. We are not far removed from the apes.

Go Phillies! It's been since 1980 since the Phillies won the World Series, and since 1983 since any Philly team has won any championship. Incredible energy in the city tonight. I love this town!

NPX to devastate NYC on 10/11/08

I'm on my way back to New York City to perform electronic music. Fresh off my adrenaline buzz from winning the 2008 Philadelphia Laptop Battle, I'll be amped and ready to lay waste to Manhattan.

I am particularly excited to see my buddies from the NPX tour again. It's been a couple weeks since we've performed together, and I've had my head in laptop battle land for so long, it will be nice to prepare for a performance longer than 10 minutes.

There's a possibility my brother and some old NYC friends may be able to come out to see the performances. All the information, including a full lineup of artists and timeslots, can be found at the NPX website:
